Jamaica vacation rentals

The perfect stay in Jamaica

Surrounded by crystal-clear blue waters and with a rich culture that is distinctive, welcoming and unique, it’s little wonder Jamaica is a longstanding favourite for vacation rentals with stars, VIPs and even royalty. Tropical forests, soft, white sandy beaches, towering mountains, and thundering waterfalls abound, transporting you to a Caribbean paradise that captures the soul. With its own soundtrack and a famously laid-back personality, the island is intoxicatingly beautiful. What’s more, the vacation villas in Jamaica are second to none. From magnificent beachfront mansions to characterful tropical hideaways, this is truly the holiday destination with it all.

From a distinctive cultural identity and natural wonders that will take your breath away to unique cuisine and a vivacious approach to life, reggae music, and art, Jamaica is one of those destinations that gets under your skin and entices you back again and again. The welcome is as warm as the Caribbean sunshine, and colours somehow seem more vibrant here.

The food is internationally recognised as a distinctive cuisine in its own right and is a fascinating combination of influences from Africa, Creole cooking, French and European dishes, and a home-grown island menu of flavours. The result is an eclectic experience that could almost overwhelm the first-time visitor, but instead reaches inside and touches your soul. Add perfect beaches and Jamaica’s luxury villas into the mix and you have the trip of a lifetime.

Thingsyou can’t miss in Jamaica
  • Visit the Luminous Lagoon at dusk, a glowing cove that harbours bioluminescent microscopic organisms that glow in the dark.
  • Go river tubing in YS Falls, a gorgeous seven-tiered cascading waterfall and wading pool surrounded by lush jungle forests.
  • Take a horseback ride along the beach, stopping for a dip in the Caribbean Sea.

“Jamaica is truly a delight for the senses; this Caribbean island has something for everyone: from endless white sand beaches to cultural attractions and excellent live music venues. For the thrill-seekers in the group, the island offers plenty of activities, such as cannonballing in the local waterfalls.”

HOW TO GET THERE

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport to your private luxury villa in Jamaica.

  • By plane There are two main airports on the island, Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston and Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. For light aircraft, there are also smaller airports in Negril and Ocho Rios, as well as a small airport in Kingston that accepts charter flights and private aircraft.
  • By boat Jamaica is a major cruise destination and is particularly busy with superyachts and cruise liners during the winter months. Fishing boats provide deep sea sport fishing and coastal tours and are a great way to see a different aspect of the island as well as access diving locations further offshore.
  • By car Although car rental is available in Jamaica, the roads are narrow and there are not many north-south routes across the island. To avoid driving on the roads, your dedicated concierge can arrange private transportation to your Jamaica villa. Otherwise, taxis, known as ‘Route Taxis’, are plentiful. Look for licensed taxis that are marked by a ‘taxi’ sign spray-painted onto the bumper. If you are driving, bear in mind that in Jamaica you drive on the left.

LOCAL TIPS

  • Convert some money into local currency on arrival, as you will need some smaller bills or coins for souvenir shopping and tipping.
  • Most tap water in Jamaica is safe to drink, but to be on the safe side, it is best to stick with bottled water.
  • Avoid getting into taxis without red number plates as these are unlicensed, instead ask your concierge to organise a dedicated driver during your stay.
